More About Diploma in Politics and Governance

The Diploma in Political Science is an after-office hour and weekend program developed by Chinbridge Institute which will be run in collaboration with the University of Hakha. The primary aim of the project is to prepare citizens to be thoughtful and informed democratic citizens so that citizens can share control of the government and drive society toward a deepened democratic society.

 

The program lasts 12 months consisting of three learning components. Firstly, seminar classes consist of 75 credit hours (3 hours per 1 credit hour) composes of 8 modules. Secondly, a series of public lectures on current political issues will be held to improve student’s knowledge of current issues around Myanmar politics and governance. The final component is the ‘research paper project’ component which allows the student to carry out individual analysis paper around social and political issues matter to them.

  • A higher civic and political engagement with better informed and thoughtful citizens in Myanmar and Chin State.

 

Project Aims

  • To equip young people with the necessary skill competencies and knowledge to advance and deepen democracy and governance in Myanmar and Chin State.

 

Project Objectives

  • To promote civic and political knowledge, skill, and value among young people by introducing to them a range of theoretical and practical perspectives around politics, models of democracy, and governance in a local, national, and international context.

  • To equip students with research and analytical skills to be able to explore and challenge issues Myanmar, and Chin State facing today.
